Guitarist,
composer and vocalist Amit Chatterjee is known for his
sensitive yet passionate approach in both his instrumental and vocal
artistry as well as bringing a certain global element to his unique
compositions. From his extensive background as a guitarist of American and
European based musics as well a sitarist in Indian music, and having been
deeply educated in both areas, he is able to seamlessly flow in and out of
western and eastern approaches, moving toward a sound which is completely
new, reflecting the atmosphere of today.
After 11 years as the guitarist for jazz-fusion legend Joe
Zawinul in his seminal band The Zawinul's Syndicate
(as well as being a part of the keyboard master's symphonic recording “Stories
of the Danube” and performances of the work with various symphonies),
Amit continues his explorations in new territories of music in his ongoing
solo projects as well as in collaborative works with different masters of
the musical arts.

(featuring master percussionist Glen Velez) and “We Call
it Maze,” the first release of the Czech version of his international
band, The Amit Chatterjee Alliance. Amongst his other recently completed

legendary tabla master Badal Roy; Taalisman,
the recently launched trance-world/jazz collaboration with virtuoso
percussionist Pete Lockett with a new CD also titled “Taalisman,”
